Jan 18

Supreme Court Chief Justice, H L Dattu today voiced concern over rising cost of litigation and pendency of cases in courts, saying steps should be taken to ensure that people get real access to justice.

Addressing a convocation at National Law University in Jodhpur, Justice Dattu praised the role played by the Lok Adalats in disposing of cases swiftly. The Second National Lok Adalat held across the country in December last year amicably settled about 1.25 crore cases.
